Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA)

March 18, 2026 – The application deadline has been extended from March 17 to Tuesday, March 31 at 11:59 p.m. CT. This extension provides additional time for families who may still be interested in applying.

Parents may submit new applications before the extended deadline. Those who have already submitted an application may also log in to the Odyssey platform to review and update their child’s information as needed.

February 16, 2026 – The Briarwood and Tuttle Schools have been approved to participate in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program for the 2026–2027 school year.

February 2, 2026 – The Briarwood and Tuttle Schools are in the process of applying to participate in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program for the 2026–2027 school year.

Participation in TEFA does not change our mission, academic program, or instructional approach at Briarwood and Tuttle. Families should rely on the official TEFA website (https://educationfreedom.texas.gov/) for information about eligibility, applications, and program requirements.

TEFA is a state program administered independently of the school. If you have any additional questions, please contact our Business Office at businessoffice@briarwoodschool.org.

Affording Briarwood
Briarwood strives to offer tuition assistance to as many families as possible through grants and donations.

While tuition assistance is offered, it is important for the family to assume primary responsibility for financing their child’s education. Both parents/guardians, if applicable, are expected to contribute to tuition. When completing tuition assistance documents, both parents/guardians are expected to include all assets.

You must file your 2025 taxes BEFORE we can review your application and determine an award.

Please note that tuition assistance applications are only available to families with an enrolled student.

  • 2025 W-2 Wage Reports, 1099 Forms, and Schedule K-1 as applicable
  • 2025 Year-End Mortgage Statements
  • Copy of FILED 2025 Form 1040 (or other personal income tax form filed with the IRS)

You must file your 2025 taxes BEFORE we can review your application and determine an award.
